A11y Equitas is an open AI model and practical resource built for neurodivergent (ND) communities missed by mainstream accessibility work inside agencies, nonprofits, and schools.

Purpose

For neurodivergent communities under-served by accessibility programs at agencies, nonprofits, and schools. ND needs — ADHD, autism, dyslexia, attention and memory differences, sensory processing — are routinely missed by accessibility audits that focus on screen-reader compatibility and physical-access analogues.

What we are building

LLM for AAA — An open model that explains and applies WCAG 2.2 AAA criteria accurately, runnable locally with no cloud dependency.

ND-biased by design — Deliberate ND bias. Helping ND users by default also covers every ADA category — no one is excluded.

Working a11y components — Live, accessible components (accordions, tabs, dropdowns, forms) that copy-paste into Next.js or any HTML project.

Tools and docs for ND life — Practical guides for ND people at work or in school, and for colleagues, managers, teachers, and staff who support them.

Schools outreach — Help schools reach ND adults and ND-led groups who lived the gap — not just compliance consultants.

Beyond compliance — Legal compliance is a floor, not a goal. Agencies and schools should treat accessibility as a way to help people who need accommodations become more productive, not just as a legal box-ticking exercise.

Models are published here on HuggingFace, runnable locally via Ollama, and source-available on Codeberg. No cloud dependency. No data leakage. MIT-licensed with a transparency addendum.

Scores are from the axe-core Fix-It Exam (50 questions, gate: 85 / 100). Judge model is Qwen3-Coder (cross-family, to avoid self-scoring bias).
